These days we live in a reality that's more like a nightmare. Everyday we wake up to news of people being infected and even dying. The Covid-19 virus has left the world unstable with uncertainties lurking in everyone's minds. Then why does it seem like some people don't feel the urgency to be careful and respect the social distancing rules? It's really simple. Wash your hands after touching any surfaces that may have been infected with the virus. Wear masks when you are out in public. Lastly, stay six feet away from people if you must interact. Is this normal? No, but it is our reality right now. If you won't do it for your own health; do it for your father, mother, brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, or your neighbor. These are very difficult times and if you want to give yourself a chance of survival, please follow the social distancing rules. I wash my hands between 30 to 40 times a day and I still use hand sanitizer. I wipe down door knobs, counters and any surface that I may touch on a daily basis. My job is essential so I do go to work but I am very careful while I am there. I only interact with people that is necessary and my wife. No one else. So I do accept the challenge because I accept life. Accept the challenge with me and be safe.

Source: Everyday Health The hardest part of the weight loss journey is just getting up from the couch to actually go to the gym. What if I told you that you didn't have to go to the gym? What if I told you that you didn't even have to lift a weight at all? There is one exercise that everyone could do that is not strenuous but still gives results. Walking. You heard me correctly. Walking is the absolute best form of physical activity that everyone should add to their work out regimen because it is low risk. You can just walk at regular pace but could actually burn more calories if you speed up the pace or power walk.
You can even increase the calorie burn by wearing a weighted vest. According to www.healthline.com, the average person burns 100 calories per mile. There are other benefits to walking. If you are diabetic, it could help you control or lower your glucose level. It also helps that you can take a walk at various times of the day. You can take a morning walk before work, a nice stroll during lunch time or you could even wait to take an evening walk with you loved ones. It can be a way to clear your head after a long day or you could use that time to have a talk with your significant other. Lastly, it could just be a family activity that promotes a healthy lifestyle. It is recommended that you walk instead of running when utilizing the treadmill. According to an expert on bio-mechanics, Philip Riches, running on a treadmill with no incline causes the exerciser to run with their knees very straight which can cause pain and muscle strain in the knees and feet. Although the treadmill is also effective, it is much better for you knees to just take a nice walk around the neighborhood. So will you challenge yourself to begin this healthy way of living? It is so simple. Just get up of the couch, put on your tennis shoes and just take a walk. Your journey begins. |
