CRITERIA FOR THIS CHALLENGE:
RECIPE FOR "FAT LOSS" TEA
START DATE: APRIL 6, 2022 END DATE: APRIL 25, 2022 FINAL RESULTS It's been almost four months since I finished the Insanity 60-day challenge. Dealing with the current pandemic of Covid-19, as well as other life changes, has kept me too busy to update the blog. I am now ready to get back to it. Ready to accept challenges while posting them for the world to witness. Before I post my results, I have a few confessions to make. First, I realized that I didn't take any good before and after pictures to post for the final results. Secondly, it is very easy to get caught up in the problems of the world and lose sight of your goals. Finally, this completed challenge taught me a lot about myself.
DATA FROM THE CHALLENGE BEFORE AFTER DIFFERENCE WEIGHT: 277.0 lbs 253.8 lbs 23.2 lbs CHEST: 48 inches 45.9 inches 2.1 inches WAIST: 47 inches 44.2 inches 2.8 inches HIPS: 51.5 inches 50 inches 1.5 inches L THIGH: 29 inches 26.4 inches 2.6 inches R THIGH: 29 inches 26.8 inches 2.2 inches Coming into the week of Thanksgiving, I expected to gain weight and I did. Thanksgiving holidays fell on days 39-41. During those 3 days, my wife and I had a sit down dinner of 18 people at the house on Thursday and had people over for a game/karaoke night on Friday. That meant a whole lot of eating and drinking of alcoholic beverages. Despite all of the festivities, I still did get my work outs done every morning. I started this journey to become more healthy and disciplined but I still want to have fun. Work hard and play hard with restraint. I just don't want to overdue it.
In conclusion, I ended the week gaining between 4 to 7 pounds. I just have to work harder during week 7 to get back on track. By the way, the second month workouts are really brutal. Effective but brutal. They are each at least 10 to 15 minutes longer than the routines from the first month. I'm very excited because I'm almost done with this challenge and I can't wait to start the next one! Remember. Accept the challenge and take action and you will see results. Week 5 is known as Recovery week in the Insanity workout. After the reaching my goal of almost 20 pounds lost in a month that was the last thing that I wanted to do. Recover. I wanted to keep pushing especially with this being the week of Thanksgiving. Even though I had work outs until Saturday, the extra calories would definitely be a setback.
By the end of Day 33, I got as low as 254.8 pounds. That would put my t total weight lost at 22.2 pounds. I just have to try to be disciplined for Thanksgiving and the weekend. I know I will eat and drink more calories but hopefully the fact that I am working out through Saturday will balance it out a little bit. The fourth week of my Insanity Challenge was very uplifting. I was able to lose a weekly total of 10 pounds. This brought my total weight lost to 19 pounds. My goal was to try to lose 20 pounds every month from the challenge so I was pretty happy. I was also overjoyed because this challenge has inspired others to do the same. My wife, Melinda @atouchofmeme_, has also accepted the challenge and is currently in the beginning of her 4th week. Additionally, some of our closest friends have took the challenge and our working out due to our influence. I hope to keep inspiring people to accept the challenge and make themselves better.
UPDATE I started this journey weighing 277 pounds. After 28 days, I have lost 19 pounds and I now weigh 258 pounds. My goal is to lose another 20 pounds in the final month. I feel better about myself and I am still very motivated. Most importantly, this workout challenge is creating positive lifestyle routines that will help me remain healthy for years to come. Everyday I wake up, accept the challenge and take action. Week 3 was supposed to be my redemption week. My week to get back on track. I actually did just that. I started the week heavier than I have been since the first week but I didn't let it discourage me. I focused on eating right and light. I completed all of my workouts and by the end of the week I was 7 pounds down. I also added an Ab workout that I wasn't able to do the week before to Friday's routine. So after week 3, I have lost 13 pounds. My goal is to lose 20 pounds during the first month. This means I have to push to lose 7 pounds during week 4. Wish me luck and remember: Get up every morning and accept the challenge.
Week 2 was a very difficult one for me. Even though, it was the same work outs from the previous week somehow they seemed more grueling. However, I pushed hard and completed every single routine. On a side note, I wasn't very disciplined with my diet so my weight loss took a hit. This journey is not just about losing weight; it's about a lifestyle change. When you want to change, you can't afford to let setbacks get you down. I intend to push even harder during week 3 and be more focused on the nutritional side.
WEIGHT LOSS As I stated, I actually gained 3 pounds this week. This was a wake up call and it will definitely force me to re-focus my dieting efforts. I just have to make better choices when eating out. My discipline when it comes to making healthy food selections is weakness of mine. I am a work in progress like most and I will continue to strive for a better health and lifestyle. WEEK 1 RESULTS The results of the first week of my 63 day Insanity challenge have been amazing. I am currently on my rest day (Sunday) which is the 7th day of the challenge. I have 56 days left to complete this workout challenge. I have chosen no to post any pictures until the last day of the challenge. Only then, I will display the before and after shot. I can tell you that I started this challenge with a body weight of 277 pounds. As of day 7, I currently weigh 267 pounds. That would put my total weight loss for the first week at 10 pounds.
I absolutely felt great after each work out this week. The hardest part has been to actually start the exercise. Once I got started, I never found the workouts too difficult; they were challenging but not too difficult. I am currently writing this post on my rest day but I will post it on the 8th day of the challenge. Additionally, I will post my starting weight for each individual week. I want to document my accumulative and weekly weight loss. On a side note, this challenge has motivated my wife to join me. She is currently on day 6. I am so proud of her and it inspires to keep going when I see how it affects others. Follow her on Instagram @atouchofmeme_. I have accepted the challenge so stay tuned for more results. |
